Using a french press will give you the most flavor you will probably experience drinking coffee! For one, it is filterless, which leaves essential oils in the coffee. It will taste so fresh and flavorful, plus using a french press allows the coffee to produce more caffeine! French Presses are also very easy to use. You just add coarse coffee grounds to the pot of the press, slowly pour in boiled water, give it a quick stir, let steep for a few minutes, and then "press" the grounds to the bottom using the filter. That's it! And then you can enjoy your fresh coffee! Another good benefit is that french presses are travel size! So easy to just throw in your bag when traveling and then there's no need to drink hotel coffee! Also comes in handy while camping! Loose leaf tea can also be used in a french press, for super fresh tasting tea!
As mentioned above, using a french press can allow the coffee to release more caffeine. This higher amount of caffeine can have health advantages! It has been found that caffeine in coffee has been linked to a reduced risk of Parkinson's disease. In a study in 2011 in "The Journal of Physical Chemistry B," researchers found that antioxidants in caffeine fight off harmful free radicals associated with a higher risk of Alzheimer's disease. These same antioxidants, according to the study authors, also have a beneficial effect on heart health.
Of course, keep in mind that coffee should be appreciated in moderation, especially if you take yours with mounds of sugar. And drinking too much caffeine (five to seven cups a day) can cause restlessness, irritability, and anxiety.
