How to Properly Clean Your Oven

Be sure to put on some rubber/cleaning gloves. Fill your sink with hot water and add 1 cup of dish soap. Remove the racks from the oven and let soak in water mixture. While the racks soak, wipe out the inside of the oven with rag or paper towels to remove surface grease. Use an oven brush or a metal spatula to remove all grit from the oven. Next use a rag or paper towels dipped in an oven cleaner mixture and wipe down entire oven, let sit for about 30 minutes. Again, use a oven brush or metal spatula to scrape any remaining grit from inside the oven. Then, wipe the oven out with a rag soaked in lukewarm water. For the racks, scrubbing with a steel wool to get all of the debris off works best. Then rinse with water. Put the racks back in the oven and turn on to 200F for 10 minutes. This allows the racks to dry and also will get rid of any odor.
